Still Life of Hand In Chest
The disembodied look of a wooden articulated hand emerging from a chest captured my attention by setting an eerie still life. I made the center of my piece darker to make it the focal point . As you look away from the center, my lines become lighter and rougher. I got inspiration from looking at Leonardo Da Vinci's work. I really like his technique of getting the basic form down and adding highlights and shadows, but retaining a rough and open style.
